Designed for distance.
Houses on the Blackall Range are often well back from the road, with sheds, studios and guest cottages spread across the property. We connect these back to the main house by buried cable or point-to-point wireless links, so all cameras and sensors report to one system.
At the gate, a video intercom answers to your phone. A camera at the entrance records vehicles arriving and leaving.
Acreage system
- Gate intercom with remote opening
- Entrance camera for vehicles
- Wireless links to sheds and cottages
- Cameras on outbuildings and machinery
- Monitored alarm for the house
Mist, storms and power.
Range mist reduces visibility and can confuse basic cameras. Summer storms bring lightning and outages. We choose cameras with good performance in fog and low light, add surge protection to long runs, and provide battery backup so the system keeps working during short outages.
Where mains power or data is not available at a remote gate or shed, off-grid solar and battery systems can power cameras and links.
Resilience
- Surge protection on long cable runs
- Battery backup for core equipment
- Solar power for remote points
- Outage and offline notifications
Common questions.
Can you power a camera at a gate with no mains supply?
Yes. We design solar and battery systems sized for the camera and link at that location.
Will fog make the cameras useless?
Heavy fog limits any camera, but careful model choice and placement keep footage useful in typical range conditions.
How far can a wireless link reach?
With clear line of sight, links can cover long distances across a property. We survey before committing to a design.
