The intercom is the first thing visitors use and the first thing residents complain about when it fails. It needs a clear picture, a reliable directory and a way to let visitors up to the correct floor only.
Where there is a concierge or building manager, calls can route to the desk first and then to residents. After hours, they go straight to apartments or to resident apps.

Gated communities around Hope Island and the northern canals need intercoms at vehicle gates, sometimes a long way from the nearest data cable. We use 4G units or wireless links rather than trenching across landscaping.
For offices and warehouses, an intercom at reception or the loading dock lets staff see and speak to drivers before opening a gate or roller door.

Common questions.
Can visitors be sent only to the resident's floor?
Yes. When the intercom is integrated with lift control, releasing a visitor gives them access to that floor only.
Can an older tower intercom be replaced without rewiring every apartment?
Sometimes. Some systems run over existing two-wire cabling, and app answering can avoid in-unit cabling entirely.
What about gates far from the building?
We use 4G intercoms or wireless point-to-point links so the gate does not need a trenched cable.
